John Fisher
Advisor Forestry and Wildfire
John has a rich 35-year background in forestry management and conservation. He has championed threatened species conservation in Victoria and New South Wales, harmonising forestry management with biodiversity conservation. His leadership roles include Deputy GM for NSW Forests, Regional Manager for the Queensland Fire and Rescue Service, and Manager Bushland for the City of Hobart. Here, he oversaw 4,700 hectares of reserves, tackling bushfire threats while maintaining diverse values. He holds a Bachelor of Science and postgraduate certifications in emergency management and leadership. He's also directed agency deployments to major incidents in Australia and North America.
